When Women Tire of Being Nice

This has been possibly the most painful week women have experienced since election night, 2016. In the light of our President’s constant tweets and on-camera behavior, mocking and doubting sexual assault survivors, thousands of women have responded with their stories about the assault they experienced, how they were afraid to come forward, and how it impacted their lives.

I’ve spent the last two weeks watching men jeering at women who share their assault stories – callously responding to heartbreaking accounts by shrugging and perpetuating the narrative “women lie.”
