On Sunday, at a Donald Trump rally in Las Vegas, Wayne Allyn Root just gave what was possibly the most disturbing speech of this election.
Trigger warning: this speech is graphic in its tone of violence and descriptions of death fantasies.
It seems like every day now I scroll through my news feed and see people mocking Donald Trump’s alleged victims, who are fast becoming representative of sexual assault victims everywhere in our society, surrounded by a rape culture that dismisses, mocks, and bullies them out of coming forward.
And much of the venom I hear comes not just from high-profile sources like Trump himself, or Breitbart media, but from a disturbingly large amount of the average population – even people I personally know – who have allowed themselves to be confused by the smoke and mirrors of a textbook narcissist, or who have become apathetic from the mental exhaustion of a bitter political battle.
